What is Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the maximum rate at which data can be transferred over a network connection.

What is Shared Bandwidth?

Shared bandwidth occurs when multiple users or devices share the same internet connection or data capacity. This means that upload and download speeds are subject to a maximum limit and can fluctuate over time.

The speed experienced depends on our network and our Local Telecom Provider. When you have a large number of users using a shared bandwidth with you, your internet connection will slow down. This can lead to network traffic congestion and can cause you to be unable to perform a task until fewer people are using the bandwidth you have been allocated.

Our Residential IP VPS

Our Residential IP VPS provides local bandwidth sourced from the shared bandwidth of Malaysia Local Telecom Provider.

Local Telecom: Since this bandwidth is provided by Malaysia Telecom Provider, it might not have a direct connection (Uplink) to your country’s Telecom Provider. Thus, this can cause latency (delays) or slower connections. This delay depends on whether your Local Telecom Provider has a direct uplink peer connection from Malaysia Telecom Provider to your Local Telecom Provider.

Variable Speed: Speed delays may vary depending on the country. We recommend conducting a speed test before purchasing any of our Residential IP VPS plans.

For instance, as shown in the graph below, different countries may experience different levels of speed delays. By understanding these factors, you can better manage your expectations and optimize your internet usage with our Residential IP VPS. User might request to upgrade the shared bandwidth to dedicated bandwidth, if the slow connection occur before upgrading, after upgrading slow connection still may occur as mention is due to the slow connection occur on the blue line shown on the image below .

What is Dedicated Bandwidth?

Dedicated bandwidth means the bandwidth is exclusive to your server and not shared with other users, ensuring consistent and reliable internet speeds.

How Our Dedicated Bandwidth Works?

Optimized for Local Connections: Our dedicated bandwidth is optimized for local-to-local connections. For example, when using speedtest tool like Speedtest.net, you could select a destination server from Malaysia’s Local Telecom Provider like TM, Time, Celcom, Digi, Maxis, and Umobile. If you use our dedicated residential bandwidth to ping or run a speed test with a Malaysia Local Telecom Provider endpoint, you should achieve the optimized bandwidth you purchased.

VPN Usage: If you use our server as a VPN, you might experience reduced speed and increased latency. This is because the connection from your Local Telecom Provider to our server (provided by Malaysia Local Telecom), might not have a direct uplink to your country’s Local Telecom Provider.

Key Points to Note

Exclusive Use: The bandwidth you purchase is solely for your use and not shared with others.

VPN Considerations: Using our server as a VPN can cause reduced speed and increased latency.

Visual Explanation: Refer to the image above for the blue line indicating potential delays and the red line showing our shared bandwidth connection.

By understanding these aspects, you can better manage your expectations and optimize your internet usage with our dedicated bandwidth service.
